Default What IS the most powerfull Class in Guild wars?

Well Guys what do you think that the most powerfull class in Guild Wars is so far? Include why you think the xxxxx is the most powerfull and other little details?

I think that the necromancer is the most powerfull class in guild wars. They have the skills that no other class has like them. i mean like what other class has a skill where you can take there life and add that to yours? They are also good at close combact and ranged combat. You can raise minions and create your own army!!!!

So what do you guys think?

If you are talking about 1vs1 i think its mesmer.

In a group its hard to say, because you need stuff from (almoast) all class

No class is the most powerful. Welcome to a properly balanced MMO.

In 1 on 1, Mesmer, they can be built for shutdown or energy denial to fight caster classes or they can be built to slow the movement and attack speed of the melee classes while denying them Adrenaline. That’s offensively speaking, they also have a slew of defensive skills and stances that also snuff attacks against them.

This is 1 on 1; a Mesmer is in no way strong enough to say…take down an entire opposing team alone (unless there is an extreme skill difference)

A ranger and a mesmer can off-set quite well in a 1vs1, its really a luck of the draw or simply who gets bombarded my the most interupts that deal 60+ damage. There is no best class for even 1vs1 because this game is rock paper and scissors.

I'd say monk, you dont see many parties in pve or pvp without monks :P
In pve monks hold all the power in teams, and in pvp if you you dont take note of what your monk says then you wont be standing for much longer either

It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are attempting to accomplish pressure/spike then going with warriors tends to be best. If you are going for single target healing and protection, then monks tend to be the best. If you are going for total shutdown, then mesmers tend to be the best. If you are looking for constant single target snares, then rangers tend to be the best etc.

I would have to say monks as well. Monks can attack and heal themselves, not many other classes do it as well as the monk. A monk can smite you then heal itself when need be. Even a mesmer is helpless when a monk throws up Spellbreaker. I defiently have to say monk.

If properly prepared, i think a mesmer would own any class with a shutdown/degen build

^^ but thats just me.

Mesmer Hands down. The Mesmer is the only class in the game that can counter any other class in the game. What can counter a Mesmer? Another Mesmer perhaps... maybe a Ranger...

good lord if I was a mod I would shuit this topic faster than a dumpster that has been sitting there rotting for 500 yrs, this is a complete attempt(although perhaps not the idea of it but it just happens that way) to disestablish the idea that Anet had of making all classes equal and balanced.

What can counter mesmer:

Concussion Shot
Debilitating Shot

Even with fast cast, a 3 sec hex is still interruptable, and D-shot is just plain evil.

I think 1v1, with no knowledge beforehand of the other's class, it has to be Ranger.

Ritualist is a very powerful class in the game. They have very powerful spirits for 1vs1 (meaning set up before enemy comes, camp in your spirits) and pve, pvp. They can damage with some decent AoE attacks and they can defend and heal. As being the most flexible class, therefore they have a lot of power.

As far as 1vs1 goes, it's just a rock-paper-scissors match. It doesn't really have much to do with the power of your build in general, but instead with the power of it against your opponent's build. All builds can be beaten by another and all builds can win if it is facing the right one.
